  3. These forms provide the nursery with personal details relating to the child. For example, name, date of birth, address, emergency contact details, parental responsibilities, dietary requirements, collection arrangements, fees, and sessions, contact details for parents, doctor’s contact details, health visitor contact details, allergies, parental consent and vaccinations etc.

Settling In

We offer a settling-in period where children are invited to visit, meet staff, and gently adjust to the nursery environment. Our team works closely with parents to ensure a smooth transition for every child.

Settling in sessions are crucial in early years settings as they help children transition smoothly into their new environment. These sessions provide children with the opportunity to become familiar with their key person and the nursery setting, which is essential for their emotional and social development. Here are the key reasons why settling in sessions are important:

  • Emotional Security: Settling in sessions promote emotional security, allowing children to feel safe and supported in their new environment.

  • Social Development: They help children navigate their first experience in a group setting, learning to share, take turns, and communicate with peers.

  • Routine and Independence: These sessions establish routines and independence, helping children adjust to a new daily schedule and take on new responsibilities.

  • Building Relationships: Children form friendships and learn to resolve conflicts during these sessions, which is crucial for their future relationships.
